Lighting is the most important and essential accessory for both the home and garden. For the garden, lighting provides ambience, romance and that all important health and safety aspect.  Garden lighting therefore plays a vital role in elevating the atmosphere and style of your surrounding landscape, so whether you have a small patio or hundreds of acres, there is nothing quite like garden lighting to set the mood.

SECURITY

Garden lighting is the ideal way to add security to your home and surrounding land.  Not only does it illuminate dark areas of your garden or driveway,  as all our light fixtures come with a dusk till dawn bulb, your electrician can simply install a PIR sensor, meaning you can relax knowing your light will create a deterrent to unwanted night time visitors.

DESIGN

Design is the most obvious consideration, but often the hardest. Ideally light fixtures in the garden should be multi-functional, a deterrent to unwanted visitors but beautiful enough that it complements your style and landscape design.

Bollard Lights:

Typically used for carparking, these lights are ideal for illuminating pathways and driveways. The closer the post to the ground, the best it is for smaller pathways whilst taller lights are ideal for placing along a winding pathway or driveway as the light projection will go further.

Lamp Post:

Add sophisticated style to your home and garden with a lamp post. Typically positioned along driveways or as statement pieces in gardens, the smaller designs will create more light in smaller spaces, whilst the larger lamp post designs look best when guiding one up a long driveway or commercial hotel. With traditional features and embellishments, our selection of lamp posts work well with period and modern homes.

Wall Lights:

Probably the most commonly used light for the home, exterior wall lights provide gentle illumination to the desired areas. Whether you are wanting to add light to reveal the beautiful brickwork on the home or help one open a tricky lock or combination on a gate or door, wall lights provide the perfect amount of light in an elegant and sophisticated way.

PLACEMENT

Identify the areas and features in your garden in which you want to highlight, it might be a pathway, step or dark corner, but remember, hedges, tress and other foliage heights may comprise the light projection in the future, causing ineffectiveness or disruption to surrounding neighbours. If you are opting for one of our more traditional lamp posts, its important to consider the terrain, are there any inclines or declines, as this may increase the base mounting size to sufficiently anchor into the ground.

MAINTENANCE

As with all our outdoor products, it is imperative to keep them maintained throughout the year. The regularity of maintenance required will depend on your location and where the light is placed in the garden. To help keep your light looking in ‘like-new’ condition, read our handy care and maintenance guides.

INSTALLATION

All of our lights are supplied unwired, meaning a professional tradesperson or electrician must install to comply with regulations. Some modifications may be made, based on individual circumstances, location or ground type.  The fully constructed light or lamp post must have appropriate earth bonding and protection against overload. A qualified electrician should inspect and test equipment before final connection.  A test certificate should be supplied by your electrician to prove that completed installations comply with current wiring regulations (i.e IEE Wiring Regulations - 18th Edition 2018).
