Illuminating Leeds Castle

Once a Norman stronghold, the private home to six of England’s medieval queens and a palace used Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, Leeds Castle is enriched with history. Today it is home to a selection of our lighting and is one of the most visited historic buildings in the UK.

Leeds Castle, Kent

Situated in Kent, Leeds Castle is owned by the charitable foundation, which was put into place upon Lady Baillie’s death, so that the Castle could be enjoyed and preserved for future generations.  Now welcoming over 600,000 visitors a year, the grounds and Castle can be used for weddings and conferences.

The foundation came to English Lamp Posts as they were looking for a collection of lighting and medieval inspired accessories which would be in keeping and complement the regal ambience of their incredible location.

Half a dozen of the majestic 3.1m double headed Victorian lampposts, as well as numerous Victorian wall lights, were expertly chosen by the Estate Services Manager, Colin Day, as well as a suit of armour sculpture which watches over the hall.

The Victorian lighting range has always been, and remains, one of our popular ranges thanks to the very best in quality craftsmanship, beautifully inspired period detailing which is combined with modern functionality.
