A faithful reproduction of the traditional Victorian gas lamps from the late 1800's, our 3.25m lamp post is complete with all of the original design features from the lantern spinning to cast iron ladder bars.

This specialist lamp post has been pre-fitted with a powerful LED lighting panel which is available in three different brightness outputs. The LED allows the lantern top to emit a brighter and cleaner light, making it perfect for a modern, yet classical security fitting.

The lamp post is also very simple to install. The solid iron base features 4 pre-cast anchoring points to allow for a quick and easy fitting to a concrete or stone foundation.

The lantern is IPX4.

Supplied in ‘Signal Black’ Base Paint Finish - RAL 9004

IP rated LED fittings are available by special request where required and will be quoted for separately.

To be installed, tested and certified by a qualified tradesperson, your tradesperson may make product adaptations where required.

Ever wondered how close or far apart you need to set your Victorian lamp posts?

Below you will find a very useful table that provides a wealth of information on the light output that each strength of LED board will give.

On the left-hand side of the table (highlighted in yellow), you will see the lux level. Lux is simply just a unit of illuminance or luminous emittance, it is equal to one lumen per square metre. An approximate lux of between 20 - 50 is equal to that of a lit up public area on a dark night.

The figures in the centre of the table you will find our recommendations on the actual spacing between each lamp post to achieve each level of Lux. This is split up between the 3 different strength of LED board.

How much does it cost to run a lamp post in your garden?

Typically, if running an energy efficient 6watt LED bulb for 10 hours per day, the running cost would be approximately £2.65 per year.

Does this lamp post have to be attached to mains electricity?

Yes, this lamp post is designed to be connected to a mains supply, which is normally run via armoured cable by an electrician. The installation process is very straightforward for any tradesperson.

Do I require planning permission to install a Lamp Post in my garden?

Generally, this lamp post would be classed as a 'minor domestic light fitting' and would not require planning permission. Generally speaking, lamp posts are designed to deflect light downwards in order to avoid neighbour disturbance. Where lamp posts are fitted with PIR motion detectors, it's important to make sure they are not continuously triggered by bushes or trees, which may cause a nuisance. Where in doubt, just contact your local planning office.
