Having undergone an extensive refurbishment, The Bold Boutique Hotel in Southport, Merseyside, was looking for an elegant yet functional lighting arrangement that would complement their beautifully restored 19th-century building, which sits within an oceanfront location.

The hotel opted for the proud and regal beauty of the Deluxe Copper Rochester Lanterns. The rich copper tones of this lantern design enhanced the stylish and newly painted black and white frontage, whilst the flat mounting plate offered security in such a public location.  Each lantern and frog collar was installed by a qualified tradesperson on an existing pillar column. 

As the Deluxe Copper Rochester lanterns were being installed in a coastal location, each lantern was given a light wet lacquer, as do all our lanterns, to help slow down the natural ageing process. Without regular maintenance and being sat within a coastal location, the salt within the air and atmosphere will accelerate the process of oxidation, gradually breaking down the lacquer finish to create a rich green Verdigris finish.
